Hello. I am a freelance designer who switched from traditional 2d work (drawing, painting, etc.) to 3d work about a year ago. In the process of converting over to 3d I’ve tried several different software packages such as Maya, 3ds max, and Blender 3d.
At the moment, Blender 3d(version 2.63) has became my main application of choice when it comes to modeling, rigging, and animation. Gimp. 2.6 is used for texture work and basic concepts when I can’t find a pencil or paper.
